SPURS Night is for queer people and their friends. If you’d like to learn to line dance in a queer space, this night is for you. While our current venues are only accessible via staircases, we throw seasonal events in accessible venues and hope to see dancers of all abilities there.

Whatever makes you feel euphoric. Layers are great for when the room starts to sweat, line dancing is a cardio workout once you’ve got a few dances under your belt! Cowboy boots are not required, but anything smooth-soled will help you slide along the dancefloor.

Depends what you’re attending.
At CHAMPS and Toscadura in Montréal, tickets are only available at the door and must be paid in cash.
At Owls Club in Toronto, tickets are available on Eventbrite a week before each Sunday night and a block of them will be reserved for the door as well, to be paid for in cash or via etransfer. For studio lessons, tickets are available in the linktree of our Instagram bio.

Every SPURS Night has at least a handful of absolute beginner lessons, known as ‘follow-alongs,’ which the caller will walk you through the steps of before it’s danced.
The lessons range from beginner to intermediate line dances, taught at a pace that the roomful of dancers can follow. Line dancing is one of the easiest forms of choreographed solo dance out there, so you’ll be spinning around the floor in no time.
If learning in a loud room is hard, studio lessons can provide a quieter environment, or we have a full list of video tutorials that you can learn at your own convenience, and request any dances you’ve learned yourself at a regular SPURS Night.
-
While our regular nights are at bars and are built to encourage socializing during the breaks between lessons, our studio lessons are concentrated dance classes that focus entirely on learning line dances in a sober environment.

It’s on its way! 💚
We’re working behind the scenes to get the Montréal side of Spurs its own home on the internet. In the meantime, you can find all the latest Montréal events, dates, and updates on our socials.
